After having lived on board this Funcraft for a number of years, the owner decided to modernise and upgrade his ship on a number of fronts. While preparing this, his neighbour pointed out TOPwindows to him. Neighbour Evert Stel, founder of the Vaarwens Foundation, has had very positive experiences with the polymer windows and portholes from TOPwindows on his own boat as well as on the Vaarwens boat. The owner contacted TOPwindows and has since replaced the maritime windows on his motorised yacht.
Once at the shipyard, more cupboard space was created by removing a number of windows. The engine room has been revamped and the ship has been completely re-sprayed in a different colour. TOPwindows has replaced all single-glazed aluminium windows and portholes with double-glazed polymer windows and portholes. We have chosen to place two hinged portholes in the middle windows of the salon. This way, the ship is insulated optimally and can be ventilated.
